Plot Summaries:

Here is the summary from the first page of the italian edition, since it was in English already I take it was the summary done by Ragawa Marimo herself or by someone of the Hakusensha staff. It means the grammar mistakes are not mine. "Kain Walker was a policeman in the New York City Police Department. He was 25-years-old guy from Newton, Mass. He was born on December 18. Blood type, 0. He was gay. After work, he always stopped at a bar in the gay street in Manhattan. He picked up one night lovers there only for having sex. It was his principle not to pick up one as a steady. But one evening, Kain met up with Mel Fredericks at the bar. Mel was 22-years-old from Manhattan, NY. He was born on May 29. Blood type, A. He worked for a coffee shop as a waiter. Both his parents had gone when he was a little boy and he had spent the unhappy days during his boyhood. So he was afraid of having his own family, but he was longing for it at the same time. This was destiny, this encounter of two guys, Kain and Mel. They had to go through several misunderstandings, before, gradually, they found that they love each other strongly. Soon fater, they decided to live togheter." - reviewed by Veruska

Remarks:

This is a manga for weepy uke lovers. People who loves it says it's so romantic, people who don't think it's molassa. NYNY could be called innovative because it's one of the few boys' love manga addressing gay real life problems like internalized homophobia, homophobia, outing, adoption, AIDS, and so on. On the other side, every issue is addressed shallowly and resolved hurriedly. Ragawa Marimo style is very personal and her characters are neither willowy nor androgynous, but 'realistic'. - reviewed by Veruska
