| Plot Summaries: | Back in college, a budding photographer won a prize with a picture of another student. Over time, the two become lovers as well as partners, one as photographer and the other as model. On graduation the model leaves, promising to call, but never does. Five years later, where this story takes up, they meet accidentally in a resturant in Shanghai, and after some conflict, reunite. - reviewed by MEverdark | ||||||||||||||
| Remarks: | The characterization in this story is really good. The characters go about their daily lives and relationships with some emotional intensity and an quiet, ordinary sort of reality that I like. It's the little things in the way the characters interact that make it so touching - the way the photographer faxes his photographs to his friend on a regular basis and they talk on the phone late at night about them, the little jealousies they experience, the fact that they take their pants off one leg at a time, etc.
