Release Date: 1 Feb 1994 Genre: Yaoi Father Oliver Mayfield has a couple of sordid secrets: he was once a child prostitute named Angel and he had accidentally killed a boy during his misspent youth. 14 years later, Mayfield had emerged from the past a priest and a savior for the exploited and abused children of the ghetto NYC streets where he had once sold his body. But however much Mayfield want to escape his past, it refused to let him go. Gemini no Tenshi is the third volume of five
volume set; Scorpio no Shonen, Leo no Otoko, Taurus' Lover and Pisces'
Knight. The Zodiac The two-part story in Gemini, aptly named "Angel with Dirty Faces" took the readers into an incident of Mayfield/Angel's past and laces it with the present conflicts the priest has to deal with when that very past came back to haunt him. Literally. Do not proceed reading this review if you don't want to be spoiled. In part 1, Father Mayfield meets Billy, an overbearing plain clothes police officer with itchy trigger finger in the most unappetizing manner. Namely, he shot a suspect to death while Mayfield was kneeling over the armed felon who was introduced to the ground floor outside from the second floor via window. Never mind that Billy had most likely saved Mayfield's life, the priest was not pleased nor appreciative. Billy, on the other hand, had taken an instant liking to the handsome young priest. Father Mayfield faced the demon from his past--his former pimp/con-artist/ street fighter named Luke. (To get the full picture of the extreme love-hate past relationship between Angel and Luke, read the last volume of the series Pisces' Knight.) Luke propositioned Mayfield openly, wanting the priest to leave the church and return to him. Mayfield refused, even when he was plagued with memories of his past.
