Patarillo part 2

ETRANGE- patarillo1.jpg One of the few women in the show, Patarillo's mother, who spends most of her time in a Swiss sanatorium for health reasons (an admirable excuse for avoiding the little wart.) Etrange is a beautiful woman, the descendant of Scandinavian royalty; her son does not resemble her in the least. She worries constantly about Patarillo and cherishes a not-so-secret (and very futile) passion for his bodyguard. While she is the only woman ever to have engaged his attention, it isn't as much as she'd like. She and Maraich do not get on well at all.

THE TAMANEGI BUTAI (Squadron)- The elite police guard, dedicated to Patarillo. When on duty they all wear identical masks and wigs (the word tamanegi means 'onion'; it's fairly obvious why from the hairstyle.) Underneath the masks the Tamanegi are all biseinen- beauty is a requisite for the job. Some are given to meeting their boyfriends off in the flower garden, but some are married with kids. The Tamanegi can be very powerful and efficient (and given to sub voce snotty remarks about HRH's idiocies), but usually act the part of buffoons. Etrange established the Tamanegi when Patarillo was born. The disguises were an attempt to ensure that Patarillo had no favorites among them. He did anyway- Tamanegi #21 (no name given) has become Patarillo's special friend. (Don't even think it- the kid's still only 10!)

IOMANTE SANDERS- idomante.jpg Head of MI6. His personality is so dour it's hard to tell if he's serious or joking. When young his nickname was 'Lightning Iomante', because of his sudden attacks and quick- draw ability. Unfortunately he can't actually *hit* the broad side of a barn.

HEWITT-hewitt.jpg A top-ranking CIA agent, Bancoran's counterpart. They first worked together in a plot to obtain an important microfilm from a Chinese crime boss. Hewitt posed as the flamboyant American assassin Sidewinder and among other things 'assassinated' Bancoran. They became good friends and often work together, but the relationship stops there. Hewitt is as devoted to young girls as Bancoran is to young boys, but unlike the Britisher, Hewitt is romantic, chivalric and stunningly unsuccessful in love. He has a hideous guilty secret- on his CIA application form he lied about what state he came from, claiming to be a Texan to conceal the ludicrous fact that he was really born in --- well, we won't tell. This secret makes him vulnerable to blackmail.

PATARILLO the 7th- Patarillo's ancestor from the 16th century. Patarillo got blasted accidentally into his era and helped him fight off an invasion fleet from England, led by Bancoran's ancestor who proved that the line has *real* strong genes for idiosyncratic appearance (and tastes.)

PATARILLO the 10th- pat10sei.jpg Patarillo's descendant in the 24th century, first sent into P's own time by the nefarious Master Wong, a descendant of (who else?) Jack Bancoran. Patarillo helps end Master Wong's reign of terror. (J: And anyone who thinks P is a pure virgin should have a look at what he gets up to with his ancestor and his descendant.) The three Patarillos teamed up to save the world from the Stardust Project (well, they were really saving their diamonds- the world was incidental.)

MARION- the son of the Silver Fox, leader of an international burglary ring. Marion posed as the long-lost first son of HIGGINS III, Patarillo's father, and hence as P's older half-brother, heir to the throne and, of course, to the mine. Marion went the same way as all the others.

JUNIOR- Real name Bjorn, he was the son of the #9 man in the diamond Syndicate. He succeeded to his father's post at a relatively young age. His job was to kill Patarillo but in the course of action he met and fell hard for Bancoran. Junior set a bomb in the Marineran embassy, but he had already been found out by the Major who cleared everyone out in time and confronted Junior with the truth. When the shooting was over, Junior was dead.

ANDERSON- Junior's younger twin brother, he worked for Tarantula (the giant criminal organization of which the IDS is just a part) and was in charge of the Stardust Project. This complicated plan involved stealing all of the world's diamonds, chilling them to the absolute zero of deep space, then dropping them on large cities which would be destroyed by the ice generated by the diamonds' passage through the atmosphere. Anderson was also seeking revenge for his brother's death. As part of the Stardust Project, Anderson also hijacked a space shuttle, but was pursued into space by our intrepid trio, where he met the same fate as Junior.
