 Under a bright moonlight, Yuri knelt before a great lord, and swore fealty unto him.  For though The duke was his enemy, when Yuri saw the his beauty under the moonlight, he know that this was the man he had been searching for through all the years.  As surety, Yuri blinded his left eye, the symbol of his loyalty.  He was true to his words, and remained the duke's faithful right arm ever since. 
 
Three Years later, a priest came to the castle, where Yuri remined Sandraka's most trusted advisor and constant shadow. 
 
A vampire is within the castle, terrifying its inhabitants. The priest suspected Yuri, but Sandraka laughed. Yuri's eye is the proof of his loyalty, Sanbika said, brush aside the priest's doubt.   He asked Yuri to assist the priest. 

Night fell. As always, the vampire came to yuri's chambers. As always, he killed Yuri's mistress, but left Yuri unharmed. The vampire, asked Yuri, "will you join me in my eternal life?" Yuri always refused, but never did he betray his secret, until now. 

The priest had told him that God forgave these who betrayed their oath in his name. Yuri listened, and heard what was in his heart.
