No yaoi or shonen ai here, not even the tiniest hint. But since so many people love CLAMP, I thought a little review is in order. Chuniyan, our heroine, lived outside of a small town in Korea with her mother, who was one of the most powerful magicians in the country. Chuniyan was much better at fighting, and in general acted out the role of savior and protector to the villagers, who lived were under a cruel and oppressive governor delegated by the central government, and who have absolute power of life and death over the villagers. Of course, the governor is not too fond of Chuniyan's interference, and is busy plotting how to remove this annoying eyesore and obtain Chuniyan's beautiful mother for himself. Meanwhile, a mysterious young man had appeared at Chuniyan's home. Muron claimed to be no more than a simple traveler out to see the world, but he seems to know a great deal more than a simple traveler should. And must he always be so infuriating, and be such a glutton?
This is a charming story without the usual twisting and turning CLAMP plot. But you'll see some suspiciously familiar faces. Muron acts and looks like Kujaku, and the villian in the second story looks like Taishakuten's twin.
